[:1]The Fish and Bread Trick is a family friendly Christian guild located on the horde side of Ghostlands. We are currently recruiting for a second raid team for progression into ICC. Our raid times are as follows:
Tuesday- TBD ( In the evening, somewhere around 5PM PST)
Thursday- ^ See above
We are by no means a hardcore raiding guild, but this will be a progression team. We are a friendly bunch of folks who just enjoy raiding.
-Also, anyone is welcome to join regardless of whether or not you raid.
If you are interested in being apart of this new raid group or would just like to be around fun individuals feel free to apply here http://thefishandbreadtrick.guildtag.com/apply/
If you would like to learn a little more about the guild and what we are all about check out this link. http://thefishandbreadtrick.guildtag.com/Rules
If you have specific questions about this particular raid group please email me at Inkelis AT Gmail DOT com.|||Now, I am a Christian and everything but... You're going to get attacked, a LOT. You're online, people are going to screw with you and even on this site it's going to happen.
Possibly calling it now: This thread goes off it's tracks, and becomes a giant political debate. If not, I'm happy we'll have one thread about something like this that doesn't do that.
Edit: Just calling it in advance, don't openly do it this way. Sure, we're Christians, sure, we are happy about that and everything but... It's KIND of like when someone's REALLY racist, and someone goes around yelling "Black Power."... It just will bring attention, and cause crap.|||I can honestly say that i don't want to start trouble. I certainly understand the concern, but is there another way to recruit like minded individuals?|||With a guild name like that, they've already stepped foot in it.
My concern about this is always, what does it really matter what belief your guildies have? If they're good, kind and decent people, responsible and respectful, then they're the type to have around. Exclusionary recruiting practices for any guild annoy me, but you have a right to decide to do this. But that's just my take on it. If you want to advertise for Christian Wow players for your guild, have at it. Not really sure how many you're going to scare out of the woodwork, but it's your breath and time. (And yes, your fallout.)|||Quote:

We don't exclusively recruit Christians. The guild itself is founded and run by Christians, although there are a few members who are not. Just like you said, we will recruit any responsible and respectful individuals. We certainly are not bible thumping type. It's a sticky kind of business recruiting for a guild of this nature, maybe it's really not the greatest venue. Everything aside, i appreciate your post.|||Many gamers have experienced a lot of grief from fundamentalists for this hobby. (I've made my way through a picket of protesting church groups to attend a gaming convention) We can get pretty defensive when faced with this. If this is not a true part of your recruiting practices, I wouldn't put it in the title of your recruitment thread. Try "Mature". Even "Family based", because all I see when I see this:
"We would not welcome you."|||You make a good point.
I will do this in the future. I will leave this thread due to the "No bumping" policy, but i will revise my other recruitment threads posted elsewhere. Thank you again.|||So what's in it for me to join your guild?
I mean after all, I would have to transfer toons to another server because there's no way I'm starting from scratch again.|||Quote:

There really isn't anything specific we are going to give you. If you read the guild info on our site and that does not persuade you to join, then it might not be worth the money to xfer. We probably won't be the most progressed guilds out there, but we will try to, so long as the environment stays fun.|||Quote:

See that's thge point here. I had no plans to even join in the first place.
But the point of my post was that you are posting on an internet forum where everyone on it is spread across different servers on EU and US. Most of us here have no intention of leaving our guilds, friends and our own toons, many of which are 80 or 60+.
You're better off finding people on your realm's official server forum, as your message likely won't reach many interested parties here.
BTW, I'm Catholic and not Christian and no offense, but I don't like the whole Christian way of things...it's too much of an "I'm holier than you." sort of a thing, but that's a different matter.
